Position Overview

BayCare Medical Group is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Pediatric Adolescent Medicine Physician to play a pivotal role in our developing pediatric residency program at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa, Florida. As a member of our faculty, you will support our mission to provide a dynamic, professional learning environment, grounded in the concepts of life-long learning, teaching, quality improvement, evidence-based medicine, and scholarship. By contributing your expertise and passion for education and training, you will help shape the future of pediatric care in Florida and the BayCare Health System while making a significant impact on the next generation of pediatricians.

Practice Details & Responsibilities:

In this exciting opportunity, you will be at the forefront of building and refining our pediatric residency program, which welcomed its inaugural class of residents in July 2022. As part of your faculty position, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Serve as the rotation director for the required adolescent medicine rotation, providing leadership and guidance to residents during this critical learning phase.
  • Play a role in developing the curriculum for the adolescent medicine rotation.
  • Precept residents in clinic, offering mentorship and support to help them excel in their clinical practice.
  • Present at didactic lectures, enriching the educational experience for residents and fostering their understanding of pediatric adolescent medicine.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in pediatric adolescent medicine
  • Completion of an Adolescent Medicine Fellowship
  • Hold a current Florida medical licensure or be eligible to obtain one prior to your start date
  • We welcome both experienced providers and recent graduates who are enthusiastic about education and training and are eager to contribute to the growth of the next generation of pediatricians
