Job Summary:

Our Food Service Department is a team of well-trained professional food preparation and service personnel who are dedicated to providing healthy, nutritious and well-prepared meals to all students. Our goal is to support the students' ability to learn throughout their school journey by presenting healthy food selections and promoting positive lifelong nutrition decisions.

We are seeking a dedicated Food Service Workers to join our the Bay Shore School District. As a Food Service Worker, you will be responsible for providing exceptional food service to our students and staff. Your role will involve various tasks such as food preparation, serving students and staff, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to food safety standards.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve food items according to standardized recipes and portion sizes
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of serving stations
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper handling of food products
- Conduct yourself in a friendly and professional manner
- Assist in cashier duties, including processing payments
- Follow proper procedures for storing, labeling, and rotating food items
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed

Skills:
- Knowledge of food service procedures and standards
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Experience in a food service environment is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English
- Basic math skills for cash handling purposes
