Bay Rocket is Tampa’s fastest speedboat attraction and is 1 of only 5 such speedboats in the entire United States!

Passengers blast off for a 45 minute adrenaline-filled jet boat thrill ride and experience the power of Bay Rocket’s 2800 horsepower engines with thrilling 180-degree spins, turns and bow dips. They feel the rush as we crank up the music for a blast off on the bay. Our crew provides a whimsical narration, fun interactive games and a dance party on the cruise back.

Bay Rocket is owned and operated by Yacht StarShip Dining Cruises who is also the parent company of Pirate Water Taxi, the Lost Pearl pirate ship, Tampa Riverwalk Rentals and Craft, a European style riverboat with upscale dining. We are now in our 22nd year of operations serving the greater Tampa area.

Our Bay Rocket Captain

● Must have a 100-ton captain’s license.

● Must have at least one year of jet drive experience.

● Must have at least one year of high-speed boat handling experience.

● Prefer prior experience on a vessel of 65 feet in length or greater.

● Maintain the vessels appearance.

● Monitor all mechanical systems on board.

● Must have a respectable attitude and be able to keep crew on task at all times.

● Ensure the safety of crew and passengers on board at all times.

● Ensure the safety of the vessel at all times.

● Keep all records up-to-date.

● Maintain the masters log, drill forms, passenger logs maintenance logs and incident reports.

● Conduct safety drills with the crew.

● Train crew to respond to situations professionally and safely.

● Must be comfortable communicating on the radio as well as a microphone to crew, passengers and other vessels.

● Need to have a fun and upbeat attitude with guests to keep them entertained.

● Need to be able to work weekends and holidays.

● Must want to have fun!!!

Pay: $30/hour tips

Full time position.

Insurance benefits effective the 1st of the month following just 30 days for you and your family. Full coverage employee only plans available for less than $100/month.
