Job Summary:
Join our team at our Residential Home in St. Mary's County as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). We are looking for caring individuals to support residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them live fulfilling lives and reach their goals.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and car insurance
- Ability to pass a background check
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team setting
- Willingness to complete required training and certifications
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and household chores
- Support residents in engaging in community activities and social outings
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to residents
- Document resident progress and any incidents or concerns
- Follow individual care plans to ensure residents' safety and well-being
