Bay Club of Sandestin Condominium Association, Inc. is Hiring a Maintenance Technician - Part Time Near Miramar Beach, FL

Job Summary:

Responsible for the proper functioning of all units, as well as all common areas. Responsible for implementing a preventative maintenance program to reduce required emergency repairs. Receives direction from management to maintain standards in both Bay Club and Bay Club II buildings. Must have excellent customer service skills. Duties to include minor electrical, mechanical and plumbing repair. Responsible for pinpointing problem areas, determining extent of repair effort and conveying to management the extent of repair needs. Responsible for replacing such items as light bulbs and air filters. Other duties as deemed necessary by management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Re-keys, replaces and repairs door locks as required.
  • Makes minor repairs to toilets, sinks, laundry rooms, sump pumps, faucets and showers as necessary.
  • Repairs or replaces stove burners as needed.
  • Repairs or replaces exhaust fans as needed.
  • Replaces switches, plugs, circuit breakers and light fixtures as needed.
  • Replaces light bulbs and heating and air conditioning filters when needed.
  • Provides minor repair to door and gate hinges.
  • Oils and lubricates motors as needed.
  • Replaces fan belts on motors as needed.
  • Orders repair and replacement material as needed.

Performs other duties as required, including:

  • Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications and resort standards.
  • Shows up to work on time for scheduled shifts.
  • Maintains time and unit repair records.
  • Reports problems, with a solution or resolution, to resort management. Assists co-workers in solving work problems.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
  • Cooperates in and enforces O.S.H.A. safety regulations, interprets company safety policies to workers. Participate in all required health and safety meetings/classes.
  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times.
  • Follow all rules and regulations set forth in the latest employee handbook.
  • Maintains Wyndham standards for maintenance at the Bay Club II building with guidance from management.
  • Assist other departments on an as needed or directional basis.
  • Take afterhours calls on an as needed basis or directional basis as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • 6-12 months experience in general maintenance positions.
  • Good mechanical skills with general knowledge of repair work in several of the trades including electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
  • Ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Necessary strength and physical ability to perform a variety of repair tasks, including lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds. Employee is regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to speak effectively to guests, owners, and contractors.
  • Mathematical ability to calculate length, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Knowledge of resort or hotel operations preferred.

  • Must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times and instill the same in the maintenance team.
  • Remain compliant to all company policies, government regulations, and any other business rules.
  • Remain calm in stressful and hectic situations.
  • Must be punctual and practice good attendance for all scheduled shifts, or as needs dictate.
  • Always be positive, supportive, and cooperative working with all team members, Wyndham personnel, owners, and guests.
