SUMMARY

The Design Assistant operates the Kongsberg cutting table to create samples. The role assists in project assignment and sample building. 

JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE

· Operates Kongsberg sample table.

· Assigns incoming projects through WebCenter.

· Negotiates Project Task Due Dates with Project Managers, CSR’s, and Sales Reps.

· Collects missing information from Project Managers, CSR’s, and Sales reps.

· Confirms and organizes incoming product.

· Creates instructions sheets.

· Makes RSC’s, FOL’s, DST’s on CAD/CAM table.

· Conducts inventory of materials and orders replenishment as needed.

· Prepares samples for packaging products.

· Maintains clean work area.

· Picks up and delivers materials as needed.

· Loads stock onto design racks.

· Performs basic math and geometric computations in determining the sizing and scaling of models and products.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

· Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related creative area.

· Experience in drafting, graphic arts and packaging, is a plus.

· Strong oral and written communication skills.

· Valid Driver's License.

· Work extended hours as required or through the evening in off hours.

· Up to 25% travel required.

· Physical and Environmental Requirements: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

· Work environment includes front-office and manufacturing in California. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
