Bay Area Enterprises is Hiring an Employment specialist Near Brookings, OR

Location : Brookings, OR

In order to best support individuals with disabilities in acquiring inclusive, meaningful employment, an Employment Specialist performs the following duties :

  • Communicate on a regular basis with support services personal agents, co-workers, and vocational rehabilitation counselors, families, client case managers, and networks of support to report progress and identify solutions to employment barriers.
  • Develop and maintain written Vocational Profiles for all individuals receiving job development services.
  • Utilize the principles of individualized job development to negotiate jobs for people referred to BAE by Vocational Rehabilitation and other agencies.

Hands-on training and shadowing will be provided.

  • Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with Vocational Rehabilitation and local placement agencies.
  • Build relationships with employers to facilitate skill building, assessments, and job placements.
  • Paid certification training will be provided.
  • Meet with community partner agencies.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to ensure that the department and organizational strategic goals and mission are met.
  • May provide assistance to clients in learning their job duties.

Requires :

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to work.
  • Must pass drug test (excluding THC). Random drug testing may occur.
  • High School Diploma Required.

Preferred :

  • Experience working with people with disabilities.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
