Reporting to the Director for Technology Strategy, this position is responsible for leading technology development in the AERO Power Systems Business for Advanced Alternative Power Systems (AAPS) such as Fuel Cells, Batteries, Hydrogen Storage, and other cutting-edge technologies. The successful candidate will supervise a team of technical experts (12 ) in Fuel Cell and power generation technologies and work closely with cross functional teams to define and develop that technology. The successful candidate will also work closely with our Tech Business Development team to identify, pursue and secure research contracts and partnerships with national laboratories, industry partners, and other agencies that align with the business strategy. In addition, the successful candidate will provide the primary oversight role for the technology projects within the department.

·Work closely with the Power Systems Gold Business Enterprise (GBE), Technology Fellows, Strategic Marketing, Advanced and Applied Technology (AAT), and Product Chiefs to develop the technology strategy for AAPS.

·Work with the GBE offering management and the strategic marketing organization to scope out market opportunities, segmentation to support early business case development to accompany each technology candidate within the portfolio.

·Actively pursue knowledge of competitive technology options and evaluate potential.

·Work with the GBEs, Fellows, and Chiefs to understand the competition and develop a growth focused technology strategy for each technology candidate to counter the competition and win.

·Use market and customer knowledge for growth direction. Leverage networks to improve productivity.

·Support GBE and TSI teammates to build Technology Procurement Plans for technology candidates that can be acquired using inorganic options (Partnering, M&A, VC, etc.) or can be developed via external funding sources (Gov labs).

·Collaborate with the GBE, Fellows, Chiefs to generate an AAPS IP strategy to ensure the technology will be protected and the business has a right to practice.

·Work with technical counterparts and GBE offering managers to facilitate technology requirements flow down, and a smooth transition from technology to product development.

·Work with TPMs, TSI leads and Strategic Marketing to uncover cross product line technology candidates and support efforts to advance the resulting Break Through Initiatives (BTIs)
