Job Description
The Building Maintenance Technician will conduct preventive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. Perform repairs and troubleshooting for various equipment. Manage upkeep of exterior areas, including landscaping and cleaning. Coordinate waste removal and ensure compliance with regulations. Collaborate with a network of qualified vendors to ensure the comprehensive maintenance and repair of the building.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • If licensed, perform electrical repair or contact and work with licensed contractors
  • Ensure mechanical equipment is in working order and fixed as necessary
  • Completing minor plumbing repairs such as fixing dripping taps or running toilet cisterns
  • Installing and maintaining household appliances such as dishwasher, changing water filters...
  • Track maintenance schedule and initiate necessary maintenance
  • Fitting shelves, hanging pictures, and other odd jobs
  • Conducting emergency audits
  • Undertaking basic gardening (minimal since we got Landscape Service)
  • Negotiating the scope of work and timescales with clients
  • Providing itemized quotes and invoices
  • Utilize the ticketing management system to submit, track, and update service requests.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

FLSA STATUS:
Non-exempt position - Non-exempt employees will receive overtime pay at 1.5 times the calculated hourly rate for time worked more than 40 hours per week.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: :
This is a full-time (non-exempt) position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
LOCATION:
This position is located at our US headquarters in Branford, CT.
TRAVEL:
This position does not require travel.
Qualifications
  • Mechanically inclined; enjoy working with your hands
  • Good hand/eye coordination.
  • Good mechanical ability.
  • Able to identify components
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Background in a machine shop or manufacturing is a plus
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have Microsoft Office skills.
