JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a talented and passionate Cinematographer to join our team on a full-time basis. As a Cinematographer, you will play a crucial role in capturing and conveying the essence of our church's message through high-quality cinematic productions. You will work closely with our creative team to conceptualize, plan, shoot, and edit a wide range of video content, including but not limited to worship services, promotional videos, event coverage, and short films.

We believe in the power of storytelling and visual communication to inspire, uplift, and connect with our congregation and beyond.

POSITION SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Collaborate with the creative team to develop creative concepts and visual storytelling strategies for various video projects.
  • Plan and execute video shoots, including location scouting, equipment setup, lighting design, and directing talent.
  • Operate cameras, lenses, lighting equipment, and other technical gear proficiently to achieve desired visual aesthetics.
  • Capture high-quality footage in various settings, ensuring technical excellence and creative integrity.
  • Edit video footage using industry-standard software to produce polished, engaging, and impactful final products.
  • Manage post-production workflows, including color grading, sound mixing, and visual effects as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and technologies to continually improve the quality and innovation of our video productions.
  • Maintain and organize equipment inventory, ensuring proper care, maintenance, and storage.
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members, including videographers, editors, producers, and graphic designers, to achieve project goals and deadlines.
  • Perform other church duties as assigned to help all people of all ages all the time advance in their journey with Christ

Continuous Improvement: Possesses talent, desire, passion, servant leadership and initiative to take position and department(s) to the next level while continuing the learning process to ensure the very best possible team, department and work environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Cinematographer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your creative and technical abilities.
  • Proficiency in operating professional video cameras (e.g., DSLRs, cinema cameras), lenses, lighting equipment, and other relevant gear.
  • Expertise in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Solid understanding of cinematography principles, composition, lighting techniques, and color grading.
  • Excellent storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for visual storytelling and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of your work.
  • Experience working in a church or faith-based organization is preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Cinematography, Film Production, or a related field is desirable but not essential.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position operated in a professional office environment but may require the following physical demands: general lifting of materials up to 20 pounds, bending kneeling, carrying, walking, and using hands/fingers to handle items. May include days where hours sitting at a computer are needed. Ability to acclimate to weather for outdoor events as needed.
