    Position Responsibilities
    • Serve as a student advocate with staff and community.
    • Work with leaders, parents, and students to assure adequate representation.
    • Serve as liaison between students and parents.
    • Work with students in developing career plans.
    • Proactive with students to prevent discipline, attendance, and academic problems.
    • Advise and schedule students into appropriate courses.
    • Maintain records and data of students.
    • Work with students to develop and encourage social/interpersonal relationships.
    • Other duties as assigned by the District.
    Qualifications
    • Master's or higher degree in School Counselor Education; successful completion of MTTC Guidance Counselor examination; and recommendation by approved School Counselor Education program
    or
    • Valid Teaching certificate with School Counseling Endorsement and Masters Degree in Counseling
    or
    • 5 years of successful experience serving in a school counseling role in another state within the immediate 7-year period and successful completion of MTTC Guidance Counselor examination and Valid MDE Counseling Certificate
    • 3-5 years of successful experience in dealing with students and parents from a multicultural community.
    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    Salary : Based on BCEA 2023-2024 Salary Schedule

    Contract : 188 days

    School Safety Clearance : The successful candidate will be subject to a fingerprint and background check as a condition of employment. All fees require for this check (estimated $73) are the responsibility of the successful applicant.
