Batteries Plus is Hiring a Maintenance Associate I Near Glendale, WI

The Maintenance Associate I will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including basic carpentry, general repairs, and general facility upkeep.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
  • Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
  • Plans repair work using equipment manuals as needed.
  • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
  • Performs routine maintenance on building systems, fixtures and equipment.
  • Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
  • Perform building maintenance activities to include: collect and remove all waste, placing recyclable materials in the proper containers; wax and repair floors; steam clean carpets and rugs; replace burned out lights; replace or repair light fixtures, switches; dispose of hazardous wastes following correct procedures; replace or repair ceiling tiles; all other building related activities.
  • Move office furniture and equipment from office to office or building to building.
  • Run errands and pick up supplies and parts as requested.
  • Inspect fire extinguishers and emergency lighting, ensuring their operability.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documentation, etc.
  • Recognize and repair potential safety hazards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools
  • Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record and ability to rent a car and/or personal transportation
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read, understand and follow manuals and instruction guides
