POSITION SUMMARY (Objective/Purpose of Position): Responsible for the day-to-day management of store operations and merchandising to ensure financial efficiency, inventory control, customer service, proper merchandise presentation, Outfittermorale, productivity, motivation, goal setting, direction and follow up and other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Listed in order of importance, indicated % of time dedicated to each.) Develop Co-Managers into leaders who are capable of managing stores autonomously and at the highest level of consistent performance during your absence: -Develops Co-Manager’s ability to follow up for efficiency of processes, identify opportunity or weakness and be able to establish performance improvement plan. -Develops Co-Manager’s ability to communicate and celebrate wins and inform/educate team on opportunities of development in such a way as to create ownership. -Develops Co-Manager to read and understand profit/loss statements, payroll reporting and planning as well as facility and capital expense management. Essential 20% Supports a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers Essential 15% In collaboration with Co-Manager, resolves customer and Outfitter issues. Essential 15% Oversee and develop store Co-Mgr. to meet or exceed all financial plans (sales, payroll) as set by the Company. Essential 10% Oversee and develops store Co-Mgr on Firearms compliance in acquisition, safety, sales procedures (4473) and disposition. 5% Indirectly supervises all store personnel within multiple locations. Essential 5% Controls Company assets and financial efficiency by auditing reports, journals, physical inventory and procedures to ensure system integrity; monitor and control cash management; controls Stores Operating account. Essential 5% Oversees and develops store co-manager in staffing “service” oriented Outfitterss; participates in selection, participates in “New Hire” orientation, prepares / approves performance appraisals, recommends merit / promotional increases, coaches and motivates outfitters to promote positive customer relations and a productive team-oriented work environment. Essential 5% Oversees and develops store co-manager in training managers/outfitters on legendary experience for every customer, every time by assisting customers in making buying decisions by: 5% -Identifying and evaluating customers' needs -Making product recommendations based off of this analysis -Promoting programs including, but not limited to CLUB Membership, VOC and In-Store Pick-up Essential Oversees and develops co-manager in maintaining a clean, organized and safe environment and facility for all outfitters and customers. Essential 5% Oversees and develops co-managers on all Marketing & Advertising strategies in the Store. Essential 5% Oversees and develops co-manager’s supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws, including: interviewing, hiring & training, planning, assigning and directing work; measuring and evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining outfitters; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Essential 5% ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: (MIINIMUM education and experience requirements to perform the essential functions of the position) Minimum of 5 years as a General Manager in high volume, “Big Box” Retail Management with multi-store desired KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY: (MINIMUM knowledge, skills and ability required to perform the essential functions of the position): Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions and percentages. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of other financial, legal and technical information. Ability to communicate clearly, define objectives, provide follow up and feedback in order to attain desired results. Ability to read and analyze certain reports. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Managers, outfitters, customers and the general public. Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to large groups. Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, data-based management and electronic point of sale and inventory management systems. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, outfitters, customers and with the Corporate Staff. Demonstrated use of Team concept of Management. Ability to adjust communication to level of audience and be clear, detailed and concise. Ability and demonstrated experience to manage by walking sales floor. Be Approachable, Be Available, Be Visible to the team and customers while in store. Demonstrated experience in strong follow up skills, in person or via phone. Ability to communicate responsibilities and accountability and maintain company expectations. Ability and willingness to address performance appropriately with progressive guidance, direction and accountability and manage people to their potential. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: This role requires frequent travel within your market. Expected travel in local markets could be 50% at maximum and more commonly limited to 25%.
