Basin is Hiring a Manufacturing Engineer Near Jefferson, WI

Basin Precision Machining (“BPM”) is the solutions-oriented contract machining division of Basin Industries, a private, diversified industrial company with 13 facilities across 5 countries.

BPM operates on a lean, just-in-time basis with a focus on quality, pricing, and delivery. We possess an arsenal of high-tech equipment and machine complex parts in numerous industries including motorcycle, oil and gas, and hydraulic. We lead the industry with the first ATL iTEM400/600 dual shot thermal deburring system in the USA.

This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and validation of manufacturing processes that focus on safety and bring value to the organization. Individuals in this role are responsible for working with engineering team members and area management to drive project completion and resolve issues.

Work Status: Must be a permanent United States resident (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs project activities as assigned in project planning meetings. These activities could include but are not limited to research, ERP data manipulation (part data, routings, bill of materials), requirement determination, inter-area communication, machine tool programming, automation development, tooling determination and design, workholding design and development, material flow assessments or improvements, quality evaluation, recommendation, and specification.

KEY SKILLS:

  • G-code editing/programming
  • IT knowledge and a general comfort with learning new things on computers
  • Workholding design
  • Speed/Feed/Cutting strategy knowledge

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in a related field, or demonstrate equivalent experience in an engineering role
  • Previous experience with Horizontal, 4 axis positional milling (experience manufacturing hydraulic manifolds in 4 or 5 axis setting a strong plus)
  • 3 to 5 years of recent G-Code programming experience, including macro writing, register manipulation, and other advanced NC programming topics. Additional programming experience (C#, C , etc) a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of: Internet Software; Manufacturing Software; Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Design
  • Working knowledge of Systematic Approach (problem solving method), Solidworks 2019 or equivalent CAD software, MasterCAM 2019 or equivalent CAM software, Vericut 9.0 or equivalent CNC verification software, Minitab or equivalent statistical analysis software
  • Exhibit proficiency with SPC, GD&T, APQP, PPAP, and ISO 9001
  • Experience with 2017 Mazak (Matrix, Smooth & Smart), Okuma, Makino, and Fanuc controls
  • Previous machining and set-up experience is strongly desired
