Basic Convenience Foods is Hiring a Quality Assurance Technician Near Pleasant View, UT

General Purpose of Position:

To ensure the highest quality standards of our products, facility, employees and vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to interface with all levels
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Working Conditions: Position may require walking/standing for long periods; reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting
  • Reliability a must
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • This position requires a great deal of attention to detail with a very high level of work accuracy and the ability to stay on task with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work with computers and a basic understanding of Microsoft applications (word, excel, and power point)
  • Multitask with minimal supervision
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Work well under pressure
  • Spanish speaking a plus
  • Address and resolve complex issues
  • Ability to oversee, manage and maintain documentation
  • Internal auditor skills a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare paperwork for all daily quality checks
  • Obtain and maintain HACCP & PCQI certifications
  • Maintain lab area and paperwork in an orderly and accurate fashion
  • Perform ATP testing on production equipment prior to production
  • Maintain a FSMA Food Safety Team certification, and support role for SQF elements and guidelines
  • Perform Pre-Op Inspections
  • Perform monthly calibrations
  • Conduct product, pH, Aw, consistometer and organoleptic testing
  • Perform required quality tests and see that manufacturing product specifications are followed
  • Works with QA staff members and production employees to ensure compliance with company policies and that established procedures are followed
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures, which include SOP's, Employee Handbook, Food Safety and Quality Procedures, Food Quality Policies, GMP's, HACCP, and Safety Procedures
  • Obtain and understand all package, case, and code information for all labels and accurately record information
  • Assist with any Quality Non-Conformances and needed investigations.
  • Initiate HOLD procedure for placing product on hold with accuracy
  • Inspect and audit facility
  • Review manufacturing records and all quality control documents
  • Helps maintain facility FSMA Food Safety plan, PCQI, and SQF requirements
  • Assist with quality duties, ensuring that they are completed, up to date and accurate
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Information

-Work Schedule: Full Time 40 hours. Monday-Thursday

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
