Regulatory Science Seeds and Traits (RSS) seeks someone to manage laboratory Sample Logistics and support core Regulatory laboratory operations. Regulatory studies are designed to meet exacting expectations of global regulatory authorities. Through all activities, adherence to defined processes, material traceability, compliance, and managing (with an increasing digital footprint) GLP documentation and raw data are critical. Therefore, the person in this role has a broad and high impact on the success of RSS activity. In addition, the person in this role must effectively collaborate with Scientists and other stakeholders to meet the agreed expectations and to assist in identifying areas of improvement in workflows and implement innovative approaches and technologies to create efficient, compliant, and quality-driven solutions.

As a Regulatory Science Specialist II, You Create Chemistry By...

• Being responsible for Sample Integrity via the SmartVue (Temperature Monitoring Database) and our Backup Data Logger system(s) (MadgeTech and Lascar EasyLog) to ensure our samples are stored at appropriate temperatures and according to the EPA GLP Regulations.
• Responsible for RSS-US Shipping & Receiving. Requires knowledge of BITS database and coordination with BMMC.
• Being the Test Control & Reference Material Archivist
• Being System Administrator to Databases such as Freezerworks (Samples), StarLims (Equipment, Chemicals & Solutions), and SmartVue (Temperature Monitoring Database) to ensure consistent traceability, transparency, and re-constructability of our activities.
• Being responsible Individual (RI) for laboratory equipment and ensure the associated equipment maintenance is conducted and logbooks (StarLims) are updated in a timely manner.
• Backup for sample processing and lyophilization for all of RSS-US, while following the approved study protocol, applicable methods, standard operating procedures (SOPs), GLP regulations, Safety, BioSafety and Stewardship Guidelines.
• Supporting greenhouse production of high-quality plant material for GLP Studies & Reference Material, while following the approved study protocol, applicable methods, standard operating procedures (SOPs), GLP regulations, Safety, BioSafety and Stewardship Guidelines.
• Processing documents being the primary author for (SOP’s, etc.) in areas of responsibilities.
• Being the RSS-US representative for leading and organizing the Monthly Laboratory Safety Walk Through

If you...

• Have a MS Degree in a laboratory-based scientific, computer system, or other technically applicable discipline, or
• Possess BS Degree in a laboratory-based scientific, computer system, or other technically applicable discipline, with at least 3-5 years of related experience.
• Have a demonstrated experience in an analytical laboratory environment and with databases. Knowledge of BITS database and coordination with BMMC, a plus.
• Have experience with GLP Regulations, a plus.
• Are hands-on and pragmatic with strong self-organization, problem solving, and planning skills. Able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
• Have ability to be effective across teams and groups with excellent oral and written communication skills. (E.g., Communicating experimental results, activity status and potential concerns in an effective and timely manner. Optimize and troubleshoot technical issues encountered and identify process improvements and provide innovative solutions for implementation.)
• Interest in computing technologies and data management and an aptitude to skill-build and develop expertise.
