As a Quality Control Lab Technician in our Process Catalyst business, you will build a meaningful career while supporting BASF’s Vidalia Louisiana manufacturing operations.

Provides periodic reports to management and will interact with peers. 

During your 12-hour rotating shift as a QC Lab Technician, you will...

• Analyze raw materials, in-process, and finished products to ensure and document that they meet customer requirements.
• Develop methods for a variety of instruments as well as follow established quality, safety and environmental procedures and policies. 
• Author and/or update procedures.
• Operate Lab instruments in a safe and professional manner, and Maintain Lab equipment ensuring adequate Lab supply inventories, conducting instrument calibrations/checks, etc.
• Maintain QA and Production Lab areas "5S" clean, organized, and safe.
• Work with SAP QM to manage the Quality Assurance process to fulfill customers' requirements.
• Order Lab supplies as needed to maintain desired working inventories.
• Generate ideas that improve the safety, efficiency and/or the overall effectiveness of the continuous improvement program in the laboratory.

The lab works a 12-hour rotating shift: workdays, nights, and evenings.

If you have...

- A High School Diploma or GED (required).
- A minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience (preferred).
- Relevant experience with basic laboratory instrumentation: titration, ovens, fume hoods, scales, vacuums pumps is preferred. 
- Experience in a production environment is a plus.
- The highest standards of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Excellent working knowledge of basic chemistry principles (including chemical equations, unit conversions, concept of acid/base), laboratory testing (preferred).
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).  Experience with SAP software is a plus.
- Ability to work with a diverse team including lab technicians, chemist, production, and logistics to ensure the best overall result for BASF.
- A high degree of initiative and time management skills.
- Flexibility and capability of adapting to priority changes on a regular basis.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem solving skills.
