We are currently seeking a dedicated Field Research Technician to join our esteemed Lubbock Cotton Breeding organization. As a Field Research Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Testing Manager and team in achieving our commercial variety advancement goals. You will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge cotton varieties that align with our business trait and germplasm priorities.

As a Field Research Technician, You Create Chemistry By...

• Assisting the Texas testing organization in developing and selecting cotton varieties that meet the specific product profiles defined by our business. Your input will be crucial in creating a phenotyping and yield trial program that not only supports our commercial decisions but also delivers accurate and valuable data to our Texas breeders.
• Taking the lead in the ginning activities of our yield trials, including managing any contingent staff involved in this process. You will also provide support to our site teams, overseeing farm and equipment operations, as well as contingent workers.
• Driving process improvements in areas of responsibility, focusing on achieving more efficient outcomes in terms of time, resources, and procedures that align favorably with the needs of our team and business. You will have the opportunity to develop a culture of safety practices and ensure the full implementation of safety guidelines and training.
• Aligning and tracking resources, people, and work objectives to stretch our goals and consistently achieve more, while also creating value and fostering future growth. You will be responsible for forecasting future needs to ensure continued success.
• Ensuring successful outcomes and adherence to timelines by consistently following guidelines, rules, standards, and compliance requirements. You will diligently monitor, track, and maintain desired outcomes and objectives, while also preparing for future challenges that may arise

If you...

• Posses a Bachelor’s Degree with 0 years of experience or High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of experience required.
• Have relevant experience in crop yield trialing and crop management.
• Have 1 years in seed industry and cotton yield trialing
• Are familiar with small plot research in relevant crop area and knowledge of production practices of cotton.
• Have the ability to develop strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Bartender, FieldPrime, and iQarus
• Have experience working with database systems is a plus.
• Have a high degree of self-motivation and organizational skills, with a process driven mindset.
• Possess Drone pilots license or willingness to get a drone license immediately.
• Are willing to challenge the status quo to spark improved strategies, methods, and practices that allows others to be efficient and productive in a fast-paced high-performing environment.
• Ability to travel up to 10% - domestic
