Description:

Powder River Industries is looking for an Information Security Engineer – Journeyman who will support our customer. The position is a remote position near Arlington, VA as there may be requirements for on-site meetings or on-site work needing performed.

Requirements:

• Public Trust or higher security clearance

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in implementing large scale systems integration projects

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field

• Experience understanding of NIST frameworks and guidance.

• Prefer experience with HIPAA regulations.

• Prefer experience with developing security SOPs and documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Plans, implements, upgrades, or monitors security measures for the protection of computer networks and information. May ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. May respond to computer security breaches and viruses.

• Prepares, maintains, and updates security documentation, policies, processes, and controls including information Security Governance, and Security assessment and Authorization (SA&A) processes.

• Coordinates, develops, and evaluates security programs for an organization. Recommends information assurance/security solutions to support customers’ requirements.

• Identifies, reports, and resolves security violations.

• Establishes and satisfies information assurance and security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands.

• Applies know-how to government and commercial common user systems, as well as to dedicated special purpose systems requiring specialized security features and procedures.

• Performs analysis, design, and development of security features for security architectures.

• Analyzes and defines security requirements for the application.

• Performs vulnerability/risk analyses the application during all phases of the system development life cycle.

• Ensures that all information systems are functional and secure.

• Contribute to schedule development as requested.

• Contribute to metric collection as requested.

• Contribute to process development within the functional area and where the functional area connects to other operational processes.

• May perform other related duties as assigned.
