Bascom Hotel Management LLC is Hiring a Food & Beverage Manager Near Campbell, CA

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective operation of the restaurant, bar and banquets in an attentive, friendly, and courteous manner, providing all guests with quality service prior to and throughout their stay, while maximizing F&B revenue and occupancy. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Essential Requirements:

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards, scheduling which will vary according to the business levels of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming (per brand standards).
  • Always comply the standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Comply with certification requirements as applicable for position to include: Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR and First Aid.
  • Always maintain a warm and friendly demeanor.
  • Establish and maintain attentive, friendly, courteous, and efficient hospitality in the F&B operations.
  • Provide overall direction and leadership to the food and beverage outlet(s).
  • Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and associate morale.
  • Provide feedback to staff on their performance. Complete 90 day and yearly reviews and future goals on time.
  • Handle disciplinary process & counsel associates according to hotel standards.
  • Maintain positive labor relations.
  • Actively participate in the selection and interviewing of manager and supervisor candidates for the outlet.
  • Hire, coach, and council outlet staff to ensure hotel expectations for performance and hospitality are met.
  • Assist in development of new menu items, can determine cost of present menu items and able to recommend price adjustments.
  • Anticipate purchase needs for linen, china, glass, silver, and complete bid recommendations.
  • Prioritize and organize work assignments, delegate work.
  • Assist GM in developing and implementing promotional/marketing ideas for outlets.
  • Participate in quarterly china/silver and linen inventory.
  • Familiarity with F&B cost & control.
  • Creative ability to decorate food tables/displays.
  • Ensure compliance to brand and company training.
  • Participate in required M.O.D. program as scheduled.
  • Ensure all end of the month report dates are met.
  • Review Guest Services staff's worked hours for payroll compilation and submit to GM/AGM on a timely basis.
  • Prepare employee Schedule according to business forecast, payroll budget guidelines and productivity requirements. Present with payroll reports to General Manager weekly.
  • Maintain hotel standards regarding Purchase Orders, vouchering of invoices and checkbook accounting.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees, and other departments.
  • Work closely with Accounting on follow-up items, i.e., returned checks, rejected credit cards, employee discrepancies, etc.
  • Operate all aspects of the F&B POS computer system.
  • Operate radios efficiently and professionally in communicating with hotel staff. Ensure the proper use of radio etiquette within the department.
  • Ensure correct and accurate cash handling.
  • Attend monthly all-employee team meetings and any other functions required by management.
  • Attend weekly staff meeting and provide training.
  • Follow and enforce all hotel credit policies.
  • Focus the F&B staff on their role in contributing to the guest service scores.
  • Ensure F&B outlets are cleaned and sanitized every hour; more often if heavy guest traffic is present.
  • Ensure work area is sanitized every 20 minutes in high guest contact areas and every hour in back office spaces.
  • Monitor all V.I.P.'s, special guests and requests.
  • Maintain an organized and comprehensive filing system with documentation of purchases, vouchering, schedules, forecasts, reports, and tracking logs.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 year of progressive F&B experience in a hotel or restaurant; and/or a 2 to 4-year college degree and 1 or more years of related experience.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Must be proficient in Windows operating systems, company approved spreadsheets and word processing.
