Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation is Hiring a Corporation Treasurer Near Columbus, IN
OverviewThe individual selected for this position serves as the official custodian of all funds of the school corporation and is responsible for the efficient, accurate, legal, and ethical administration of the financial operations of the school corporation. The Treasurer will lead the financial operations of the district in accordance with accepted accounting procedures, including state and federal guidelines. Essential Functions
Supervise, lead, develop, and evaluate the Deputy Treasurer
Prepare and monitor annual budget
Develop and maintain internal control systems
Maintain all district financial records
Prepare strategic and long-range financial projections
Direct financial planning, procurement, and investment of funds for the school corporation
Oversee receipt, disbursement, banking, protection and custody of all funds
Manage cash flow
Develop quarterly school board financial updates
Coordinate with HR to manage personnel costs and cost projections
Manage public and legal requirements for all debt issues
Maintain accounting records and prepare state and federal financial reports
Administer HRA, HSA, and 403b/401a plans
Provide financial and administrative support to the Health Trust
Work collaboratively with county officials regarding assessed values and tax distributions
Review relevant state and federal legislation, as well as board policy related to finance
Provide basic school finance education to school administrators and staff
Participate in IASBO certification and ongoing training
Attend school board meetings as needed
Other duties as assigned
Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for Finance Qualifications
Ability to supervise and coordinate all business and financial activities of the school district
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required, CPA certification preferred
Eligibility to be bonded is required
Experience in management, leadership, and financial principles and practices desired
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Discreetly handle confidential and politically sensitive matters
Role model with strong moral character, integrity, self-confidence, and optimism
Proficiency in the use of software systems
Ability to solve complex problems
Additional qualifications as required by the Board or the State of Indiana
