Silverlake Ramen - Fashion Valley is Hiring a Food Server Near San Diego, CA

The Server is truly the face of the restaurant. As the one having the most direct interaction with the customer you will have the most opportunity to impact our guests’ dining experience.

While the basics include taking orders, answering questions about the menu and processing payments it goes far beyond that. You are an ambassador of Silverlake Ramen guiding our guests through their dining experience. Teamwork is paramount to being successful in this position. Communication between kitchen staff and support team (bussers, cashier, etc) help to make service run smooth and ensure everyone has a great dining experience!

Ensuring that our guests have a great dining experience is the servers’ primary focus. In this position, timing, being attentive and anticipating guests’ needs are keys to success. Don’t forget your most effective tool, your smile! A big smile goes a long way in effecting our customers’ dining experience, resolving issues and driving sales (and tips). The ideal candidate will be hard working, reliable, engaging and able to work as a team with a strong sense of urgency. At times this position can be stressful. Keeping a cool head and positive attitude will ensure that our guests all have the same wonderful experience regardless of how busy the restaurant is.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to

  • Set up Station and (re)stock all necessary supplies and ingredients needed for service
  • Greet guests and say goodbye on the way out.
  • Engage with guests in a friendly manner that contributes to a positive dining experience
  • Be knowledgeable about menu, ingredients, allergens and anything else relating to ordering
  • Take and deliver food and beverage orders accurately, repeating orders back to guests in a timely manner. Make suggestions and upsell whenever possible
  • Check in throughout dining experience and anticipate guests’ needs
  • Process payments
  • Complete Side Work
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.85 per hour
