Bus Person / Food Runner / Room Service Server - Shifts are in AM and PM

Primary Objective of Bus Person / Food Runner / Room Service Server

To provide quality service to all customers and the evening operations of the Bayside Bar: Assist servers in their prompt and courteous service of our guests; Maintain the efficiency of a restaurant kitchen by ensuring accurate delivery of dishes to the tables; Provide quality service to hotel guests by providing prompt and courteous food and beverage delivery. 

Responsibilities

• Clears tables, using proper method to stack dishes, glassware, and silverware on trays, resets and cleans tables and seating
• Polishes silver and folds linen
• Maintain awareness of factors such as food safety and the temperature of the food
• Delivers food to guests in the dining room and lounge
• Clears unnecessary items from tables as needed
• Keeps Kitchen window/pass through area clean and well stocked
• Answers the Room Service phone extension, answering questions and taking orders
• Verifies guest’s name and room number in POS to ensure ability to charge to room account
• Ensures orders are complete, accurate and well packaged with appropriate condiments, meal-kits, napkins, etc for the number people dining.
• Delivers food and drink items to guest room door 
• Answers questions regarding room service and responds to requests for additional food or drink service.
• Collects dirty containers/used bags from outside the rooms as necessary.
• Operates Room Service Cart in a safe and courteous manner, always checking for pedestrians always yielding to oncoming vehicles
• Communicate effectively with service staff and kitchen staff 
• Informs server, manager or chef of any customer dissatisfaction
• Minimizes safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures
• Other duties may be assigned as needed 

Physical Demands & Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is sometimes exposed to outside weather conditions, and frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, sharp cutting tools, hot external surfaces of kitchen cooking equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
