Bart's Electric Inc. is Hiring a Low voltage installer Near Liberty, MO

Barts Electric is a full service commercial electric contractor which has built a reputation of reliability and service that sets us apart in the industry.

We have immediate openings for Journeyman Level Datacom Installers to join our team. This job is in Kansas City, MO area.

POSITION SUMMARY

The datacom installer is required to perform telecommunications installations based upon contract scope.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Install communications pathways, to include cable trays, open-top supports(J-Hooks), soft-strap, etc.

Install and communications and CATV cabling (UTP CAT5e / CAT6, Coaxial, Optical Fiber).

Install, terminate and label communications and CATV connectors & patch panels (8P8C, Type F / CATV, Optical, etc).

Build-out and install communication room equipment (Racks, Patch Panels, Ground Bus, etc.) and support assemblies / runway.

Test and certify installed cabling systems and troubleshoot / repair existing cabling.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Required

  • Low Voltage / IP Camera / AV experience Minimum 3 year
  • Interested Candidates MUST possess a reliable vehicle and vehicle insurance.
  • Demonstrates a high-level of professionalism, expertise, and communication skills
  • Carry weights up to 60 pounds
  • Climb ladders

Must have own basic Low Voltage Hand tools

High School Diploma or equivalent as a prerequisite

AVIXA CTS or CTS-I is a plus

Other A / V industry certifications

College Degree of Trade School Diploma in Audio or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science,

Information Technology or other audio or video related degree, or 3-5 years experience installing and maintaining high quality audio visual systems

Biamp, Crestron, Google Video Conferencing, Zoom, Cisco, Poly,

Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Install IP camera systems.
  • Proficient with wiring in PVC or EMT Pipe.
  • Proficient knowledge of networking WAN / LAN / VPN, routers, and switches.
  • Low voltage field tech experience including, network rack and stacks (installing routers switches, servers, patch panels, etc), cable pulling (from network racks to various network drops that are snaked through walls, ran to APs and security cameras mounted on ceilings, or ran to things like cash registers), knowledgeable · Troubleshoot new system installations to ensure proper function and to ensure system meets local, county, state, or federal codes;

legal and / or insurance requirements.

Must know Windows operating systems, be able to configure static IPs, and be able to console into a router. Must be familiar with MPOEs, Dmarc's, Extending circuits from Dmarc to Network Rack (MPOE), 66 Punch Down Blocks, and Phone wiring.

Knowledge of current Apple systems and OS is also desirable. · Proper documentation of installation issues / actions / resolutions both internally and externally (acceptance forms, service tickets, etc.)

  • Maintenance of internal A / V systems, development and upkeep of records, scheduling and coordination of routine maintenance, proactive performance checks
  • Proficient installation racks, projectors, monitors and related sub mounts
  • Fast learner and attention to detail
  • Proficient in termination, testing and labeling of CAT cable, Fiber cabling, audio and video cabling
  • Train and develop other installation technicians
