Job Description: PCMC has several Machinist job openings on 2nd shift, Monday – Thursday. We are seeking technically skilled individuals experienced in setting up and running some or all horizontal and vertical machining centers, lathes, mills, boring bars, and grinders. Responsibilities: Produce parts to print holding tight tolerances while working to production schedules. Perform machining operations on manual and CNC machine tools. Inspect completed and in-process work. Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition. Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process. Inspect machine parts to ensure they meet proper size, shape, or tolerance specs using micrometers and other measuring tools and devices. Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency. Maintain safety by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Some positions require CNC programming. Qualifications: A technical degree/certificate and 1-2 years of experience, or 4-5 years of machining experience Knowledge of manufacturing processes, CNC machining, machine tooling and fixturing, set-up, operation of CNC machines and preventive maintenance. CNC programming experience required for some positions. Physical and Environmental Requirements Bend, squat, climb, grasp, reach, lift or otherwise move about frequently and for extended periods of time. Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. regularly or occasionally. Walk, stand, or otherwise move about continuously. Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require personal protective equipment. Grasps items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
