Job Description: COMPANY SUMMARY: Machine Solutions Inc. (MSI) is a leading manufacturer and pioneer in providing the medical device community with the premier solution for catheter & stent processing and testing applications. MSI has been instrumental in automating or semi-automating several manual processes within catheter manufacturing organizations. We offer an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual in a fast paced biotech organization. GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Perform duties required for the preparation, sub-assembly and construction of company produced electromechanical equipment. Works under immediate supervision and problems are typically routine in nature ,but may at times require deviation from standard procedures or interpretation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, and work orders to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions Assemble sections of machines to customer specifications; attach unit to assembly, subassembly or frame using various hand and power tools Perform mechanical assembly operations to exacting tolerances; position and align parts using fixtures, jigs and templates; work with rotating shafts, gear trains, mechanical structures, and sprockets. Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spotface bolt holes in parts; file, lap and buff parts to fit; clean and lubricate parts and sub-assemblies Use measuring instruments to level and align work, detect and eliminate run-out, work to close tolerances with a demand for square, concentricity and parallelism. Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings using rivets, bolts, and soldering equipment Label, wire and connect switch boxes and control panel terminal boards from basic wiring diagrams. Check wiring for proper coding and termination; check for shorts, grounds, and continuity. Detect defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor describing in accurate detail to ensure proper corrective actions Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements. Actively participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues. Regularly and effectively communicate and interact with other team members Regular and predictable attendance at the worksite and on any assigned shift or work schedule is required for this position, as is the ability to work frequent overtime; this is not a job that can be performed remotely Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Maintain work area and equipment in clean, orderly and safe manner Ad-hoc projects as needed SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead, guide, coach or mentor less experienced team members; be a positive role model for the team QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to communicate effectively with team and other departments. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees outside of the organization. Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability: Ability to work with challenges involving various concrete variables in situations where standardization is limited. This involves understanding part geometries, reasoning about physical interactions and addressing assembly challenges.
