As a multi-discipline firm, Isett provides a full range of engineering and consulting services, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, environmental, geotechnical, and municipal engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, code enforcement, plan review, construction management, construction materials testing, and grant writing services to clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

But, enough about us. We want to hear from YOU, if you are a Professional Engineer or Licensed Architect with interest or experience in investigative engineering. Do you like to be in the field and write clear and concise reports? Then this is the opportunity for you! We are currently looking for a Senior Forensic Engineer to join our team working out of our Allentown, Phoenixville or Mechanicsburg offices.

Our Forensic Engineering Department focuses on the investigation of buildings and structures that are failing or aging. The primary areas of competence and responsibility will be assessments of residential and commercial structural components and building envelopes including field work, performing detailed inspections, taking notes and photographs, preparing written reports; and preparing designs and drawings for repairs.

The following skills would also be helpful, but not required: special training, certifications, or design/assessment experiences with building envelopes, HAAG roofing certifications, special training, certifications or design/assessment experience with structural systems, litigation and insurance claims experience; experience with structural analysis software; and familiarity with BlueBeam.

This position will require you to work independently and as part of a team, so we need very good communicators who are able to multi-task and work well with others. As a Senior Forensic Engineer, you’ll be handling your own projects from intake to invoicing, with the possibility of providing mentoring and training to junior associates.

You will also be responsible for responding to emergency investigation requests 24-7 which may impact public safety.

This position has the opportunity to develop into a Department Head role.

Requirements

• B.S. in Civil, Structural, Materials Science, or related engineering or Architecture;
• Current Professional Engineering or Architect license in PA, NJ, DE, MD (or ability to obtain it);
• Valid driver’s license;
• Ability to carry 50 - 100 lb. ladder;
• Be comfortable with heights and walking on sloped roofs;
• Ability to obtain PA Act 34, 114, and 151 Clearances.
