QUALIFICATIONS:
REPORTS TO: Grounds Supervisor
SUPERVISES: N/A
POSITION SUMMARY: The groundsperson is responsible for maintaining the appearance and safety of grounds areas in the District.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
PHYSICAL CONTEXT OF THE JOB: Ability is needed to safely operate chippers, backhoes, augers, bobcats, mowers, chain saws, weed whips, a variety of hand tools and field lining equipment. The individual must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, climb ladders, crawl through tunnels, operate hydraulic lifts and work on roofs or scaffolds. Lifting is often required, sometimes heavy. Driving is required between District facilities and snow plowing is required as needed. This position also may include prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing.
