What You'll Do:
The Clinical Care Advocate contributes to the department’s efforts to receive, process, and follow-up on authorization requests from providers with follow up to nurse case managers/Adjusters to ensure no delays in care for the injured worker. In the spirit of customer service and teamwork, we may also follow up on and process notes, claims, and scripts with approved network providers in an organized and process-oriented manner that meets patient and customer expectations. Must effectively communicate with internal/external clients and providers to ensure timely and accurate operational processes are completed as it relates to the Clinical Care Advocacy Team. Must be a team player who is willing to be cross trained, assist colleagues, and cheerfully work within a tight knit and very busy department while advocating for patients as we help them navigate treatment after an injury. Clinical Care Advocates are critical thinkers, inquisitive and motivated individuals looking not just to complete a task but improve the worker’s compensation experience for all stakeholders

  • Follow up on all referral cases at the time of reauthorization to determine the plan of care
  • Obtain additional orders for cases continuing care and obtain authorization from any required stakeholders
  • Work to ensure patients do not have a lapse in care at the reauthorization point
  • Collaborate with our Clinical Advisors when requested number of visits exceed internal data thresholds to manage client expectations
  • Coordinate additional authorization with all stakeholders
  • Detail oriented to ensure all information is properly documented for managing the referral
  • Ability to work through a task list quickly, efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to accurately and precisely enter data into multiple systems
  • Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Communicate professionally and succinctly with internal and external stakeholders
  • Review and identify workflow process enhancements and efficiencies
  • Exhibit efficient time management while accessing multiple systems
  • Exhibit self-management of work queues, tasks, and other duties
  • Deliver detailed case updates as necessitated by escalation process
  • Advise external stakeholders of claim status after utilizing critical thinking and clinical experience to assess
  • Develop best practices by incorporating state legislation, clinical experience, and stakeholder feedback
  • Exhibit professional and calm phone etiquette
  • Communicate effectively in verbal and written formats with internal and external resources engaged in the patient care continuum
  • Always maintain positive customer service
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive, team player attitude

Must Haves:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program or recently graduated.
  • 0-2 years of experience in patient case management.
  • Medical background preferred.
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook preferred.
  • Experience with Raintree, Salesforce preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Compensation:

  • The range of base salary for this role is $15 an hour.
