Responsible for the direction and management of nursing structures and processes related to acquiring and maintaining American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet designation. Coordinates the development of the process for successful (ANCC) application, including required documents for designation and re-designation. Directs, provides and implements education related to ANCC model components and sources of evidence to leadership and staff at all levels. Must have strong communication, presentation, writing and computer skills. Able to inspire, motivate, collaborate and instill Magnet principles. Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and interpretation. Position is fiscally responsible for department’s overall annual budget, and operational improvements.
Bachelors degree in Nursing – BSN required. Masters degree preferred. Nursing certification required per defined list in area of specialty or in leadership within two years of hire or job entry date. This position involves overseeing the operations of Magnet Program for both BHM and MCI. The position requires on-site presence of at least 4 days per week, and an equivalent amount of time spent at each operating entity. This position is responsible for maintaining all requirements in accordance with accreditation standards and local, state, and federal laws. This Director will work with executive and operational leadership teams to collaborate and strengthen the BH culture and connection to the organization’s mission, vision, and values. This position requires a dynamic, collaborative leader, who thrives on innovation and can plan strategically with all levels of leadership. Responsible for engagement, development, and performance of leaders and employees. Strong leadership, Project Management and progressive nursing experience in an acute setting. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task; ability to successfully work with all levels of the organization. Proficiency in MS Office applications and presentational skills.
