The Cardiovascular Tech is responsible for working as a team member with other cardiac cath personnel, physicians, customers, and coworkers in providing technical expertise necessary to perform those procedures required in the cardiac cath unit. The maintenance of the cardiac cath unit, in all respects lies with each staff member. This person will be responsible for providing a safe and meaningful service to the patient and physician. To this end, they must be familiar with all the equipment involved in performing such duties, and able to operate such equipment efficiently and accurately. This position must have knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, hemodynamics, and sterile technique. The Cardiovascular tech will be responsible for providing the physicians with reliable data and results at completion of the procedure. All cardiovascular invasive specialists will be expected to act with initiative in completing duties in the cardiac cath unit.
