The Cardiovascular Tech is responsible for working as a team member with other cardiac cath personnel, physicians, customers, and coworkers in providing technical expertise necessary to perform those procedures required in the cardiac cath unit. The maintenance of the cardiac cath unit, in all respects lies with each staff member. This person will be responsible for providing a safe and meaningful service to the patient and physician. To this end, they must be familiar with all the equipment involved in performing such duties, and able to operate such equipment efficiently and accurately. This position must have knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, hemodynamics, and sterile technique. The Cardiovascular tech will be responsible for providing the physicians with reliable data and results at completion of the procedure. All cardiovascular invasive specialists will be expected to act with initiative in completing duties in the cardiac cath unit.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate (or equivalent) required; graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology, ARRT, RCIS or RCES required. BLS, ACLS required. Cardiac Cath or Special Procedures Radiography experience preferred but not required. Education background in one of the following healthcare specialties required: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or Registered Radiologic Technologist. The ability to communicate effectively with patients, guest, and hospital personnel. The ability to show compassion and sensitivity for patient comfort. Ability to maintain a professional and customer centric composure in difficult or challenging situations. Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds throughout the organization. Ability to provide a positive customer service experience to guest, visitors, and patients. Knowledge of HIPAA standards and regulations.
