The Advanced Clinical Educator is responsible for developing staff throughout Baptist Health by providing expertise as an Educator, Consultant, Facilitator, Change Agent, Leader and Researcher. The Advanced Clinical Educator supports the development of new and current staff, fosters empowerment and the development of knowledge through the use of evidence based practice, relationship based care, SMART principles and principles of adult learning. The Advanced Clinical Educator utilizes the Benner Model to move staff through the continuum from novice to expert. This occurs by facilitating the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of competency, continuing education and leadership development. In addition, the Advanced Clinical Educator will serve as a role model of professional behavior.

Qualifications
  • MSN, MHA or other healthcare related Master's degree required with demonstrated evidence of experience in teaching and or education of at least 2 years in the clinical or academic setting; minimum 5 years clinical experience required in the area of served (Critical Care, MedSurg, Women's Services, Peds or ED)Knowledge of principles of adult education. Evidence of commitment to continuing education. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to develop curriculum and teach in a classroom setting .Registered Nurse (RN) License; Basic Life Support (BLS) required; certification as appropriate to the clinical setting served
