Description
The Patient Accommodations Coordinator performs functions including but not limited to pre-registration and registration of patients in Epic, verification of patient demographics to include insurance and prior-authorizations or referrals required by payer, and scanning orders, identification and insurance cards into Epic.
Responsible for expediting placement for patients requiring hospitalization (from the Emergency Department and or direct admissions) as well as those patients requiring transfer to a higher or lower level of care within the acute hospital, SNF and Lifespring.
This role is pivotal to patient flow, satisfaction, and safety. In addition, this role as many revenue integrity functions.
Requirements :
High school diploma and 2 years medical office experience required.
Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership and customer service skills.
Excellent communication skills are required.
The ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, demanding environment is essential.
Ability to enter at least 45 words per minute on computer.
Preferred Qualifications :
Previous experience working independently and autonomously preferred.
General knowledge of office procedures.
Familiarity with medical terminology, hospital services, and medical insurance preferred.
