Under the direction of the Oncology Director, Deaconess Research Institute and the BHDM/DRI Institutional Review Board, manages all aspects of cancer-related research studies conducted at BHDM.
Coordinates full scope of patient care and data management for cancer related research studies. This includes patient evaluation and enrollment, direct and indirect patient management, data collection and long-term follow-up.

• Assists clinical investigators with study planning, pre-initiation, and pre-award activities, including; protocol review and development, resource assessment, review of study agreements, completes site surveys, etc.
• Develops human subject protection documentation, prepares contracts and grants transmittals, and completes other regulatory compliance documents.
• Coordinate research subject recruitment and consent; subject enrollment and evaluation; patient scheduling and coordination; protocol adherence; protocol amendments; sponsor audits, maintenance of enrollment logs; data management and reporting; completion of case report forms; post-study patient follow-up; and study close-out requirements.
• Serves as point of contact for cancer clinical-trials, human subjects, and research compliance and sponsor requirements.
• Assists with the preparation of guidelines, policies, training materials, data summaries and web-based literature searches.
• Assists with the planning and coordination for various meetings, training and informational sessions, and the preparation of standard procedures for billing, recharges, and study financial monitoring.
• Prepares and coordinates all information needed to report to the Institutional Review Board
• Develops programs to attain personal goals and participate in educational activities to ensure further professional growth.
• Community Service: Participate in a minimum of one event per year as needed.

Required member of the BHDM Cancer Committee. Provides reports in alignment with the Commission on Cancer standards related to cancer-related clinical research accrual.

Minimum Education, License, Experience, Certifications Required

• Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Active RN license from the Kentucky State Board of Nursing
• Oncology Certification by ONCC preferred
• American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) preferred/highly recommended
• BLS required.
