Job Description
The Team Member Health Registered Nurse Provides professional nursing care to patients. Performs patient check in duties, observes, assesses, performs nursing diagnosis, with intervention and evaluation of care of the patient as directed by providers. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques. Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Obtains vital signs, collects immunization and vaccination information, collects samples, such as blood and urine for testing and may perform routine laboratory tests, where applicable. Maintains up to date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, to ensure quality care. Appropriately operates clinical equipment. Answers patient calls and requests in a timely manner. Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization. May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care to patients. Observes, assesses, performs nursing diagnosis, with intervention and evaluation of care of the patient as directed by providers.
• Performs patient check in duties promptly, prepares equipment and aids Physician/NP during treatment and examination of patient. Assists physician/NP with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments when appropriate.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
• Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
• Obtains vital signs, collects samples, such as blood for testing and may perform routine laboratory tests, where applicable. Interprets basic cardiac arrhythmias and takes appropriate action
• Maintains up to date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, to ensure quality care.
• Appropriately operates clinical equipment such as stress and EKG machines, cardiac monitors and defibrillators, SaO2 monitors, and IV infusion pumps.
• Answers patient calls and requests in a timely manner.
• Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure.
• Indirectly supervises Medical Assistants within the practice. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization. May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

Qualifications
Minimum Education

• Technical Diploma/Certificate Nursing or Associates Degree Nursing Required. Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state Upon Hire Required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Demonstrated proficiency in acute and chronic care nursing, knowledge, and skills
• Demonstrates a clear understanding of quality improvement and patient satisfaction.
