Overview

Summary/Objective

The Inventory Control & Build Room Supervisor position manages inventory through databases/spreadsheets and maintains levels required on a daily basis to meet client, company, and technical staff needs. In addition to overseeing the PC configuration Team and other associate positions as required.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Supervise day to day responsibilities of shipping receiving, inventory, and configuration functions
  • Communicate with clients regarding new equipment orders
  • Serve as an escalation point with regards to inventory or configuration items
  • Hold regular meetings with the configuration and inventory team
  • Work with Build Room technicians to ensure adherence to departmental and company standards with regard to the execution of their jobs.
  • Compile inventory reports and furnish to management upon request
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure business needs can be met
  • Regularly meet with Project Management to understand inventory needs and provision equipment from inventory.
  • Receive and Check-in inventory as it arrives from various carriers.
  • Check-out inventory to technical staff as needed ensuring adequate quantity remains and reordering as needed
  • Keep inventory counts in all locations as well as ordering thresholds.
  • Coordinate purchases with the Purchasing Department.
  • Supervise and assist as necessary to facilitate hardware disassembly for destruction and recycling purposes.
  • Coordinate destruction and recycling programs for decommissioned hardware.
  • Organize stock rooms periodically throughout the year.
  • Communicate with technicians, supervisors, managers, vendors, and clients with regard to inventory-related tasks.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has direct reports and supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, shredders, laminators, and scanners. In addition, this role routinely uses shipping equipment such as dollies, scales, and packing essentials. Further, this role routinely uses tools such as screwdrivers, plyers, compressed air, and flashlights to interact with computer hardware.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but could require occasional deviations.

Travel

Occasional travel is expected for this position – primarily in-town or between our branch offices.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Advanced understanding of desktop operating systems and various software applications.
  • Advanced understanding of PC hardware, server hardware, and dedicated networking hardware.
  • Advanced understanding of Internet technologies and products.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical safety procedure.
  • At least Three years of technical work experience/equivalent education OR three-year of related inventory control work experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associate’s (or higher) degree in computer science-related field.
  • Three or more years of technical work experience or three years of related inventory control work experience.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., A , Network and Security ).
