Diamond Ridge & The Woodlands Golf Course is currently seeking a full time Golf Course Mechanic.  The Mechanic will be responsible for a comprehensive preventive maintenanceprogram for all of the golf course maintenance equipment. The program includes repair of failing orunsafe equipment, record keeping of repairs and scheduled maintenance, partsordering and inventories and training staff in the proper care and cleaning ofequipment.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

Repairs and maintains the golf course equipment fleet whichincludes gas, diesel and electric powered equipment and keeping the equipmentin proper working condition with regard to safety and function.

Instructs golf course maintenance workers regarding preventivemaintenance responsibilities, proper handling, operation and cleaning of theequipment.

Properly prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work.

Manages appropriate inventory of parts and supplies, fuel,oil, lubricant and shop necessities.

Responsible for administration and development of equipmentrepair budget.

Maintains a clean, orderly and safe work area. Follows environmentally sound procedures forwaste disposal within established guidelines of OSHA, MOSH and MDE.

Regulates the use of equipment by staff in the absence of Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.

Evaluates equipment operator ability and coordinates improvements with Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.

Minimum Job Requirements:

 Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Specific Skills/Abilities: Skilled in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools, skills to make various types of mechanical repairs, climbing, kneeling, bending, stooping, balancing, reaching, and heavy lifting
