- JobID: 3832
- Also Receives direction from assigned Nurse Coordinator in collaboration with the assigned School Nurse (RN)
- High school diploma or an equivalent education is required
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Ability to pass a fingerprint criminal background check
- Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatments, especially as relates to children and adolescents
- Considerable knowledge of child growth and development
- Working knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies
- Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services
- Some knowledge of the school organization and the community served
- Ability to identify abnormal growth and development and symptoms of disease
- Ability to coordinate and facilitate services between the school, local health agency, and other community resources
- Ability to develop and maintain health records on students
- Ability to develop positive working relationships

REPORTS TO: Building Administrator
JOB GOAL:
The LPN assists the Building School Nurse (RN) with a variety of duties, but not limited to: providing first aid care, administering testing and medication to staff and/or students, maintaining accurate health records for students/staff as applicable, collaborating with the Building School Nurse (RN) with other duties as assigned.
