The Engineering Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the organizational talent and technical leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers' missions. Principal Engineer - Mission Systems Member of the Mission Systems Engineering, Integration & Test Team with responsibilities to develop and utilize the factory environment to validate the Collection Segment prior to launch and commission the space vehicle(s) post-launch. What You'll Do: * Develop, release, and maintain the factory support environment architecture, CONOPS, requirements and interfaces. * Lead efforts to develop and verify the factory support environment. * Utilize the factory support environment in support of Collection Segment and Mission Integration & Test activities. * Provide various Mission SEIT leadership, systems engineering, integration & test, and operations activities. * Develop and implement the Mission Test Plan and Mission-level Test Procedures. * Provide support for operations and launch rehearsal development and execution. * Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. * Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment * Perform other duties as necessary. What You'll Need: * BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 12 or more years related experience. * Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. * Experience with mission operations. * Experience with mission integration - pre-launch and post-launch. * Exceptional communication skills, solid presentation skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively lead group discussions, set priorities, and delegate as required to meet all objectives. * A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required. Full-Time On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site full-time. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required. A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position, however applicant must be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
