Balian Springs is Hiring a Spa Manager Near Alexandria, VA

Balian Springs curates unique wellness journeys for those seeking a meaningful balance between mental, physical, personal, and social wellbeing. This first-of-its-kind daily membership-based Wellness Club is designed to transport you to your favorite tropical oasis and includes a luxurious beauty spa, delicious and nutritious eateries, relaxing lounges, healing hydrotherapy pools, detoxifying saunas, and more.

Balian Springs is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Spa Manager who will be in charge of all service related amenities available to guests. Treatments range from body massages, body treatments, International Body Scrubs, facials, dry bar, nail salon, and reflexology.

General Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day management of the spa
  • Ordering and selling several lines of retail products
  • Managing inventory and ordering all necessary spa supplies
  • Hiring, managing and scheduling staff
  • Overseeing the client booking process
  • Creating a relaxing and rejuvenating atmosphere for our clientele
  • Overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of the spa
  • Remaining informed of all trends and improvements in the spa and beauty industries

The ideal candidate will have: at least 3 years managerial experience in a health/beauty spa environment; at least 3 years customer service experience; prior experience managing teams of 10 ; prior training experience; excellent leadership/management skills; ability to sell concepts and ideas to management, peers, and employees; demonstrated success in revenue achievement and expense management; experience in budget development and financial analysis; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and high standards in ethics, service, and image.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the spa team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Spa Operations: Oversee all aspects of spa operations, including scheduling, staff management, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Member Experience: Ensure that the spa provides a serene and rejuvenating experience that aligns with the Club's reputation for excellence.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage the spa budget, including revenue growth strategies and cost control measures.
  • Spa Services: Continuously enhance and expand the spa's range of services and treatments, staying updated with industry trends.
  • Staff Development: Recruit, train, and motivate a team of skilled spa professionals who deliver outstanding service and meet the members' expectations.
  • Marketing and Promotions: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional campaigns to attract new members and retain existing ones.
  • Compliance: Ensure the spa operates in compliance with all relevant regulations and maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Oversee daily operations of the spa, including managing staff and ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain clients.
  • Create and maintain a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere for guests.
  • Train and develop spa staff to provide high-quality services.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement cost control measures.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts and pricing.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Spa Management, Hospitality, or a related field (Preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in spa upper management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and lead a team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Thorough knowledge of spa operations, including treatments, products, and industry trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Financial acumen and the ability to drive revenue growth.
  • Passion for wellness and a commitment to providing a world-class spa experience and knowledge of spa services, products, and equipment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
