Baldwin Supply Company is Hiring a Fabricator Near Fridley, MN

Baldwin Supply Company is the leading distributor of conveyer belts, mechanical power transmission, electric motors, and control products in the upper Midwest. We are searching for an experienced Fabricator for our Belting Service Center in Fridley. Our Belting Division specializes in light and heavy weight custom belt fabrication, installations, prototyping, and design consulting.

We are seeking a skilled Fabricator to help us achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction with our products. This position performs various tasks involved in the production of fabricated belting which would include using hand tools, blueprints and equipment to complete work orders by adhering to all safety guidelines in order to fulfill our customers’ belting needs. This position offers a work schedule of Monday – Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm, with occasional overtime. You will work in a clean, well-lit, spacious and organized facility where you can do your best work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Accurately cut belting materials and operate equipment to accurately slit belts to the desired width and length. Hand slit belts as needed
  • Understand and apply various types of glues and cleaners to use for a range of applications
  • Set up, prepare, and layout the belt for applying v-guides, cleats and sidewall
  • Measure, cut, couple and coil hoses to customer specification
  • Inspect belts and hoses to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Check both incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and damage by reporting any abnormalities to supervisor
  • Load or unload trucks as necessary via forklift or other means
  • Label and put away incoming inventory- cycle counting
  • Attend safety, training and other informational meetings
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Ability to work independently

Requirements:

  • Two or more years of fabrication experience. Belting experience is helpful, but not necessary.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders
  • Ability to use/learn to use a variety of equipment including HR Welders, soldering guns, carpenter square, punching machines, die cutting materials, table saw, lathes, and a fork lift.
  • Basic math skills to use, read and understand a tape measure
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Willing to put in extra hours, if needed
  • A positive, team oriented attitude
