Baldwin Care Center is Hiring a Laundry Aide Near Baldwin, WI

Job Summary: Perform laundry duties in accordance with Baldwin Care Center Laundry Procedures, under the guidance of the Environmental Services Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Be at least 16 years old.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. using proper techniques.
  • Be of good mental and physical health, good personal hygiene, and mature judgement.
  • Ability to interact with residents, staff, and visitors in a polite and professional manner.
  • Possess good communication skills.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Genuine interest in caring for those who cannot care for themselves.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with and perform laundry duties in accordance with Laundry Procedures.
  • Always maintain a sanitary, orderly, and safe environment in your work area.
  • Ensure adequate supply of necessary chemicals and inform supervisor to reorder.
  • Retain linen inventory checklist to ensure linens are not going missing or when necessary to reorder more linens.
  • Care for equipment and maintain work area.
  • Respond promptly to resident’s laundry needs.
  • Wash clothes accordingly as to sorting.
  • Fold clothes as they come from dryer. Fold personal clothes to the resident’s needs.
  • Distribute linens and see that each linen closet has enough linen.
  • Distribute personal clothing to each patient room, putting clothes and gowns in drawers, hang dressers, trousers, shirts, blouses, and robes in closets.
  • Be sure that there is never an overabundance of linens in resident rooms.
  • Do ironing in between folding dryer loads.
  • Report repair needs to maintenance staff.
  • Provide necessary assistance to other departments whenever requested or needed.
  • Treat all residents, staff and visitors with respect and dignity in any given situation.
  • Attend staff meetings and in-service functions as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • All laundry and housekeeping personnel will be cross-trained in the other’s duties.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
