JOB SUMMARY

Working under the guidance of BFA's Administrative Staff, the Pre-K teacher holds the responsibility of fostering an environment for social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children in their assigned class.

It is imperative for the teacher to exhibit passion, compassion, and empathy in all interactions with both the children and their parents.

Cooperation with peers, Administrative Staff, Owners, parents, and external parties providing activities and care to the children is crucial.

The Pre-K teacher will help children meet their potential with Kindergarten readiness as well as cognitive developement and progression with our curated curriculum.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

A high school diploma is required, coupled with experience in early childhood education or a related field.

Possession of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in early childhood education is preferred.

Certification in CPR & First Aid is necessary, or a willingness to obtain certification within three (3) months of employment.

• Implementing lesson plans for children aged 4-5 years.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrate professionalism through punctuality, mannerisms, and attire.
• Oversee all classroom and daily routine activities.
• Collaborate with co-teachers on daily preparation and room and dish cleanup.
• Work with Administrative Staff for timely supply requests.
• Cultivate positive relationships with parents, staff, and children.
• Establish a nurturing relationship with children, serving as a positive role model.
• Treat children positively, encouraging individuality and self-esteem.
• Fulfill designated housekeeping duties, including tasks during rest periods.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Effectively work with children with special needs.
• Establish rapport and adjust cognitive patterns for individuals of varying ages and backgrounds.
• Exhibit good judgment, tact, and courtesy in interactions with children, co-workers, and parents.

• Meet the physical demands of the job while prioritizing judgment and safety awareness.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to stand frequently over an 8 hour period to effectively interact with children.
• Must be able to reach down and pick up toys, supplies, and reach above head on a regular basis.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly
• Able to kneel or crouch frequently to effectively interact with children.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
