The Balance Disorders Clinic is urgently looking for a Personal Research Coordinator Assistant. This is a full-time opportunity for an applicant to expand their knowledge in the medical field, including medical research.
This position will directly assist the physician, maintain the authorization process for the clinic, help with research projects and provide guidance to the front office staff among other responsibilities. This person is expected to be able to foster a positive relationship between the clinic and its patients while handling the patient’s needs with care.
Duties, but are not limited to:
1. Maintaining the physician’s professional schedule.
2. Monitor the physician’s emails and communications.
3. Liaison between pharmaceutical representatives and practitioners.
4. Discuss medication information, provide brochures and support to patients starting on new drugs. Then complete and fax start forms for those medications.
5. Create and maintain authorizations for specialty medications, infusions and imagining.
6. Knowledge of prescriptions and how they are written.
7. Handle requests from patients, staff and consulting medical facilities via phone, email and faxes.
8. Reviewing all scribe notes to make sure all requested tests, labs and other are done and faxed.
9. Provide supervision, help with coverage and guidance to the front office staff.
10. Handle the student employee’s schedules and responsibilities.
11. Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned by the physician.
Applicants are expected to meet the following qualifications:
1. Must have flexibility with both job and duties with an over average attendance. Workdays are Monday through Thursday and hours are from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Mondays and Wednesdays and 7:30 am to 4 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays. (with exception if coverage is needed or extensive projects are due).
2. Must have experience with insurance and its authorization process. Also knowing appeal processes using and creating supporting documentation.
3. Knowledge of medical terminology
4. Have above average ability to maintain multiple tasks simultaneously and have persistence and attention to detail capabilities.
5. Must have at least 1 year in a medical office setting and have supervisory experience. Experience with research projects would be helpful.
6. Hourly salary will be discussed based on experience.
