 We are seeking a strong Engineer with leadership capability to lead our New York Plumbing & Fire Protection Department and supporting the function enterprise-wide.

Primary responsibilities will include:

•Serve as an engineering leader and technical expert with the ability to answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering staff. 

•Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by. 

•Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects. 

•Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff. 

•Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors. 

•Prepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally 

•Perform department management activities including recruitment, hiring, coaching, and leadership

The basic requirements for this position include: 

•10 plus years’ experience in plumbing /fire protection design

•Team supervisory experience

•Bachelor’s degree -mechanical engineering required; PE license preferred

•Strong technical writer 

•Strong knowledge of building codes

•Strong interpersonal skills

•Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment with the ability to work individually or as part of a team.

•Knowledge of Sustainable certification programs

•Strong software skills including Revit
