Bakersfield American Indian Health Project is Hiring a Grant Program Analyst Near Bakersfield, CA

Under the supervision of the Grants Program Director and guidance of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Grants Program Analyst (GPA) is responsible for supporting newly identified and secured grant and contract funding sources. In addition, the GPA evaluates and monitors achievement of grant objectives and goal outcomes as well as contract Memorandum of Understanding and Business Associate Agreements (MOU/BAA). The GPA will also be responsible for reinforcing relationships with donors, ensuring that grants programs operate efficiently, streamline grant compliance and policy, support the oversight of grant solutions and reporting requirements; ensure grant compliance, and keep Bakersfield American Indian Health Project (BAIHP) fiscally sound by providing oversight on grant billing, reimbursement, and data reporting. The GPA utilizes peer-reviewed methods to guide grant writing; explores all governmental, private, and non-profit funding sources and prepare, monitor, and report findings to stakeholders.

The GPA is supporting every aspect of funding including but not limited, to fiscal compliance billing and invoicing, funding and report timelines, system management and integration, budget review and drawdown, technical assistance, attending meetings, participating in contractual obligations which require a presence of staff, team, or executive leadership. Every grant proposal and or application of interest requires the CEO’s authorization and approval to submit.

  • Manages and supports the grant requirement and implementation for BAIHP.
  • Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process.
  • Manage yearly calendar of all grant activities to ensure timely applications, required reports, and all other submissions are done in a timely manner.
  • Research and advise on funding and strategic opportunities, complexities, challenges.
  • Manages all phases of grant research, data collection, budget preparation, and submission.
  • Prepares grant narratives in collaboration with grant coordinators or grant managers, tracks budgets and reports; assists in the preparation of budgets and reports for the organization and participates in fiscal oversight.
  • Prepares multi-faceted health care business projects and presentations, conducts research, analyzes data, and works with all levels of government on a variety of programs and projects.
  • Studies management methods to improve workflow, simplify reporting procedures, and implement cost reductions.
  • Studies methods of improving work measurements or performance standards as it relates to grants and contracts.
  • Innovative, spontaneous, on-time project facilitation; consistent and timely delivery of high-quality work.
  • Provides reports and pertinent data to the CEO and performs special projects as designated.
  • Participates in grantee/grantor networking or technical assistance calls, collaborates with grantee project administrative officers, grant consultants as a designee on the behalf of the CEO.
  • Assists in maintaining and tracking of spreadsheet budgets for various departments/programs.
  • Participates in helping to monitor fiscal and performance activities.
  • Supports training deliverables.
  • Analyze data.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, accreditation agencies, and legal responsibilities.
  • Work with Supervisor and CEO as well as partners on various projects, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Must have:

· Valid California driver’s license and DMV report with fewer than two (2) infraction points within a 12-month period and automobile insurance.

· Zero Major Moving Violations in the past 4 years.

· Required High School diploma/GED.

· Must have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Literature, Public Health Administration, or related field from an accredited University and/or at least three (3) years of experience in grant writing or grant/contract management.

Available to work evening and weekend hours as needed (participating in community functions, events, outreach, and engagement), and willing to travel as needed.

Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Literature, Public Health Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with IHS, BIA, CCUIH, NCUIH, HHS and other tribal organization(s) preferred.
  • Experience working in a Healthcare setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Health Records system and grant Government systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $31.25 - $35.60 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
