I have a client in Philly looking for a Security Ops Tech. Essentially it's an Associate - Mid-level System Admin who is working in network and firewalls and security compliance. The office is in Center City General work hours: 9-5 job, but the team is on call since it is security. Environment is all Microsoft Office 365 Needs soft skills dealing with non-tech and legal folks for support

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Security Operations Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will monitor our network for security breaches and investigate a violation when one occurs. The role is crucial for protecting sensitive information and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of our data.

Job Responsibilities:

· Monitor security access and perform security checks on network activity.

· Detect, analyze, and respond to malware and other security threats.

· Maintain data and monitor security access to ensure that no data is corrupted or lost.

· Utilize various security tools to proactively identify and mitigate risks.

· Prepare regular reports on incidents and breaches and recommend improvements.

· Collaborate with the IT department to enhance the security landscape of the organization.

· Conduct security audits and make policy recommendations.

· Provide real-time security support and troubleshoot security issues.

· Participate in security training and informational updates to remain updated on the latest threats and mitigation techniques.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

· Proven experience in a security operations role.

· Strong understanding of firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, and other security technologies.

· Familiarity with the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.

· Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think through security issues.

· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Certifications:

• Certification in CompTIA Security , CISSP, or similar will be advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
