Job Description. The Construction/Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the construction process for buildings and other pieces of infrastructure, overseeing and leading maintenance procedures, upholding the use of quality materials and procedures, adhering to budgets to complete tasks or purchase materials, and reviewing contracts to make sure that current practices align with the owner’s expectations. Oversee and lead maintenance procedures and actions in the company. Manage activities for the repair of buildings, landscapes, and offices. Duties include tracking expenses, reporting progress, and assigning schedules. Aside from the primary duty of overseeing a construction project, you will have other duties and responsibilities as well. Working with the tools and being hands-on is required. Some of the additional duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Choose the types of tools to use in the construction/maintenance and track the inventory of those tools.
  • Keep daily employee logs and monitor the conduct of each one of them.
  • Ensure the construction/maintenance project complies with all safety and building regulations.
  • Maintaining all machinery to ensure it’s at working standards.
  • Conduct an in-depth analysis of the project to come up with the budget and deliverables.
  • Supervising and leading all maintenance processes and operations.
  • Creating and implementing maintenance procedures.
  • Conducting regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.
  • Planning and managing all repair and installation activities.
  • Assigning repair schedules and evaluating repair cost estimates.
  • Establish risk factors, then manage and mitigate them to ensure the construction goes smoothly.
  • Work closely with Architects and Engineers to establish the requirements for the construction.
  • Liaise with local authorities to obtain licenses and permits for the project.
  • Prepare reports on the project.
