Bakelite’s Crossett, AR Chemical Facility is seeking a qualified individual to join its manufacturing team as a Millwright Maintenance Technician. This position creates value by ensuring reliability of equipment to help meet and exceed the facility's goals for quality and production by inspecting, troubleshooting, and diagnosing mechanical related problems on all manufacturing equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures. This is a Monday-Friday day shift position that will include occasional call-ins, evenings, and weekends. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Utilizing Bakelite supplied tools and equipment to troubleshoot/repair/test mechanical equipment (rotating and fixed), such as pumps, blowers, fans, valves, and piping systemsWorking with Supervisors, Maintenance personnel, and Operations to plan, procure and document activities for the improvement of maintenance systems and equipment within the facilityConducting mechanical maintenance activities associated with the preventative/predictive maintenance program as well as repair/rebuild of mechanical equipment throughout the plant. Including installation of new equipment and project support as assignedSharing knowledge with other technicians/operators and staff as it relates to maintaining and troubleshooting plant equipmentKeeping plant equipment in good working order consistent with company policies, equipment manuals and good engineering practicesApplying all applicable codes, regulations, reliability strategies, corporate and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standardsImproving operations productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, and coordination of labor, parts, material, tools, and equipment accessReviewing, developing, and/or modifying work orders for all plant equipment and entering work orders into the facility maintenance systemContacting vendors and manufacturers as needed for support in issue resolutionExpediting repairs of critical equipment to minimize downtimeProviding feedback to the maintenance supervisor/planner for assigned and completed workExecuting and improving the lubrication/oil sampling programMaintaining strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment as required by specific jobs REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES Experience interpreting documents such as rules, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions and other procedure manualsWilling and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipmentWilling and able to work at a facility where hazardous chemicals are presentWilling and able to work overtime, weekends, on-call and holidays if neededWilling and able to lift up to 50 lbs. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GEDA minimum of three (3) years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance/repair within a manufacturing, production, industrial or military environment PREFERED QUALIFICATIONSExperience working with pipes, e.g.: welding, cutting, bending, threading of various materials of construction, e.g.: carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, etc.Experience maintaining, replacing, repairing and rebuilding pumps, bearings and sealsExperience with laser alignment and other precision measuring toolsExperience using a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or another system for tracking preventative maintenanceExperience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel e.g.: creating and editing Word documents and Excel spreadsheetsExperience operating a forklift
