Bakelab is a French inspired artisan bakery and coffee shop. We are looking for a passionate upbeat Baker to contribute to our success by preparing fillings, croissants, and other desserts. This role is perfect for someone looking to expand their knowledge in pastries, and is a hard-working individual. You will be working with a group passionate people and an experienced pastry chef.

Baker responsibilities include preparing fillings & baking pastries. To be successful in this role, you should have work experience as a baker, and preferably with croissants. Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh and delicious goods to our customers on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare dough
• Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
• Mix various ingredients to create fillings
• Prepare custom-made pastries based on customers’ preferences
• Recommend recipes to renew our menu and attract more customers
• Track food supplies and place orders, as needed

Skills

• Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role
• Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters
• Understanding of food safety practices
• Experience with decoration techniques
• Excellent time-management skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
• Flexibility to work in early morning shifts
• Certification from a culinary school is a plus

Requirements:

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
